Neon Fund | Assignment by Sakshi

Objective: For this assignment, I was given a full-length Neon Fund episode and asked to isolate a segment and turn it into a standalone short that matched the style of their existing content.

Approach: I studied Neon Fund’s own shorts and the provided references to understand their pacing, typography, transitions, and overall visual language. From there, I used those references as a foundation while adding my own creative direction to the edit.

What I focused on:

  • Keeping the edit clean, minimal, and natural
  • Building a strong flow through storytelling and pacing
  • Creating a consistent caption system with a primary style and an accent style for emphasis
  • Using B-roll and motion graphics to support specific moments in the conversation
  • Adding sound design and SFX to make the edit feel more engaging
  • Designing the thumbnail
  • Maintaining visual consistency throughout the edit

I wanted the final short to feel fast, clean, and natural enough to sit alongside Neon Fund’s existing content, while keeping the original conversation easy to follow and its key points intact.
