Worked on the Cheap vs Expensive series for Veggie Paaji, focusing on transforming long, unstructured food tasting and travel footage into engaging, comparison-driven videos that hold attention till the final verdict. The core objective was to clearly communicate the difference between cheap, mid, and expensive options while keeping the storytelling simple, engaging, and easy to follow for the viewer.
The editing process involved building a strong narrative flow from raw clips, ensuring smooth transitions between multiple price points, and maintaining consistency across both sit-down and travel-style formats. Special attention was given to food visuals, using close-ups, reaction cuts, and timing to make the dishes feel appealing and real, while keeping motion graphics minimal and functional, mainly for price tags and clarity.
Each video typically took around 48 hours in editing and was priced at approximately ₹5,000, depending on complexity. The workflow was handled using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with music sourced from Uppbeat to maintain a light and engaging tone without overpowering the content.
A key challenge was balancing clarity and pacing when dealing with multiple food items, locations, and reactions, without making the edit feel repetitive or overdone. This project helped me develop a stronger understanding of comparison-based storytelling, improved my ability to structure real-life content into engaging narratives, and reinforced the importance of letting authentic reactions and simple edits drive viewer retention.
