The client, a small e-commerce business, approached me to enhance their website’s visibility and organic traffic. Their primary goal was to rank higher on search engine results pages (SERPs) and attract more qualified visitors.
Here’s how I accomplished this in four strategic steps:
1. Exhaustive Keyword Research
👉 Competitor Research using Ahrefs:
- Compiled an extensive list of 100+ relevant keywords that competitors were ranking for.
- Shortlisted keywords based on relevance, competition, and search volume.
👉 SERP Analysis:
- Eliminated keywords with high competition and focussed more on Longtail Keywords.
- Assessed search intent and traffic potential for shortlisted keywords.
👉 Second Round of Keyword Research:
- Conducted fresh keyword research for shortlisted keywords using Ahrefs.
- Identified related keywords essential for creating comprehensive content.
- Established keyword clusters using related terms.
2. Crafting an Effective Blog Strategy
- Developed a detailed blog strategy for writers.
- Number of Images: At least 5 original images per 1000-word blog.
- Internal and External Linking: Link exchange method through cold mail pitching.
- Crucial Statistics: Include data from websites like Statista to attract backlinks.
- FAQs: Address common queries.
3. SEO-Optimized Blog Publication
- Implemented On page SEO basics
- Schema Markup: Used how-to and FAQ schema to target featured snippets.
- Heading Structure, Image Alt Text
- Publication Frequency: Published around 8 blogs per month.
- Pillar Pages and Clusters: Created 3 pillar pages and 5 blogs as child pages for each pillar.
4. Data-Driven Iterations
- Monitored rankings:
- Analyzed pages with keywords ranked in the 4th to 15th position.
- Added new informative content based on data and current SERP.
