At Egis India, a French Engineering Consultancy, I was instrumental in driving employee engagement and motivation through my innovative idea of FREQI (Free Expression for Quality Improvement). The organization had announced an award, “INNOVATION”, and encouraged employees to come up with ideas that were easy to implement and could help keep employees motivated and engaged.

FREQI is a concept that was first adopted by the Japanese in the early 60s and 70s. It involved asking employees to identify challenges they faced and come up with suggestions to overcome them. The thought behind this was that those near the fire know best how to deal with it. I suggested this idea to the management, and it caught their fancy. My entry secured the second position in the competition.
