Objective of the Project
This assignment was less about writing and more about thinking like a viewer.
The goal was to come up with story ideas and a hook that could actually make someone stop scrolling, click, and stay. Since the niche is cybercrime and online scams, I focused on topics that feel close to everyday life — things people might have already experienced or heard about, but haven’t fully understood.
Instead of going too technical, I leaned into human behavior, emotional triggers, and curiosity gaps — because that’s what really drives retention on YouTube.
How long it took me
It took me around 4–5 hours in total.
Most of the time went into refining the ideas — making sure each one had a strong hook and wasn’t just “informative” but actually engaging. I also rewrote the opening hook a couple of times to get the pacing and tension right, so it feels like something you’d actually want to keep listening to.
How much I would charge for something like this
For similar work (idea generation + hook writing for YouTube), I would typically charge between ₹2000–₹3,000 depending on the depth of research and revisions involved.
If it includes full scriptwriting with storytelling, pacing, and retention structure, I usually prefer a per-video or monthly pricing model.
Tools used
I mainly used Google Docs to write and structure everything.
Apart from that, I spent some time observing how real YouTube videos in this niche are framed — especially how they open, how they build tension, and how they hold attention in the first 30–40 seconds.
Was this done independently?
Yes, this was completely done by me.
From selecting the angles to writing and refining the hook, everything was built from scratch. I didn’t rely on templates because they tend to make content predictable — especially in a niche where originality and storytelling are key.
