Objective:

This review article explores cancer-targeting exosomes, focusing on their potential to locate and eliminate cancer cells within the body.

Scientific databases (e.g., PubMed), reference management software (e.g., EndNote), and word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) were utilized.

Cancer targeting exosomes, cancer therapy, nanomedicine, targeted drug delivery, precision medicine, tumor microenvironment.

Challenges and learning:

Understanding exosome biology, engineering suitable targeting strategies, comprehending cancer cell communication and the tumor microenvironment, and keeping up with evolving nanomedicine were challenges. This internship at IIT Bhubaneswar provided valuable learning experiences.

Result/Outcome:

The review article provides a comprehensive analysis of cancer-targeting exosomes. It discusses engineering strategies, therapeutic cargo incorporation, and molecular targeting approaches. Benefits include enhanced treatment efficacy, reduced off-target effects, and overcoming drug resistance. The importance of the tumor microenvironment and cell-to-cell communication is emphasized.
