Why I Chose This Project

As a passionate UI/UX designer transitioning from education into the design industry, I constantly seek meaningful projects to sharpen my skills. I was initially given the Akquaintx landing page as a design task by the company. However, after submitting my work, there was no follow-up or communication for over three weeks.

Rather than let the effort go unseen, I decided to turn it into a self-initiated case study — treating it as a conceptual redesign to improve an existing public interface while applying user-centered design principles.

What Problem I Solved

Upon reviewing the original site (link), I identified several usability and design gaps:

❌ Weak visual hierarchy — the messaging wasn’t clear or compelling

❌ Low visibility of CTAs — no strong direction for user action

❌ Overcrowded layout — inconsistent spacing and flow

❌ Weak visual identity — lack of design cohesion and brand presence

My redesign addressed these issues by delivering:

✅ A cleaner layout with focused information flow

✅ Clear, visually distinct CTAs

✅ Consistent spacing and modular sectioning

✅ A refined visual system aligned with the brand’s tone

Duration

Day 1: UX review, competitor benchmarking, wireframes

Day 2: High-fidelity UI design in Figma

Day 3: Iteration, responsiveness, and final documentation

My Design Process

Heuristic Evaluation
Reviewed the site for usability issues using UX heuristics to identify areas of improvement.

User Journey Mapping
Mapped the experience of a first-time visitor to clarify what information needed to be prioritized.

Wireframing
Sketched key layout ideas to define content hierarchy and flow.

High-Fidelity Design
Used Figma to bring the concept to life with a consistent grid, visual hierarchy, and responsive design elements.

Review & Documentation
Finalized the design, created a case study, and documented the key decisions and outcomes.

Outcome

This redesign helped me apply a complete product design process under a tight timeline. It refined my ability to:
