MyCaptain
It is a 16-week course that teaches you content and copywriting basics. It first taught me the basics of writing like structure, tone and grammar and helped me build my writing muscle and style by giving daily fun and interesting prompts to complete. Then the course dove deep into content writing for social media (Instagram and Linkedin), SEO blog writing and creating a content strategy for social media. I learned how to write different kinds of blogs like how-to blogs, educational blogs, reviews and product-launches. I had the most fun creating Instagram content ideas and designing them for Blissclub. I used Canva to play with the fonts, colours, effects and graphics to create eye-catching visuals. I also found the marketing, branding subjects very interesting. It helped me understand and craft strategies before creating content for any brand. Check out the content strategy I devised for the brand Ariro Toys. The Copywriting part of the course was something new as it relied much more on brand understanding and marketing in my opinion and I found it fascinating that a few lines in an ad or notification can compel someone to consider buying products/services. I threw myself into the world of spec ads, creating social media copies (for Pepperfry) and UI/UX writing as part of the projects. I learnt how to research brands, their personality, tone and why they choose to have a marketing campaign to promote their service. The highlight of the work I did was definitely the marketing campaign I designed for Healthify Me (a diet and fitness tracking app) that got me thinking about their USPs, the psychology of their customers and how to build awareness, hype and interest with my ad copies. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I have learnt far more than I inititally expected from a completely remote, online course!
