The Problem:
My client's website had a lot of bloated, irrelevant, and low-quality content, affecting the website's topical authority. 

Having already spent $$$ in creating those posts and pages, he was not ready to delete any of it.

My Proposal:
I straight away suggested going for content pruning, (deleting pages) and guaranteed him a 1st-page ranking for the relevant blogs that were nowhere found on the SERP.

He agreed, and I de-indexed around 50% of the pages.

When Number of pages = 435

Number of Pages getting 0 traffic: 340 
Number of Pages getting traffic between 1 and 100: 91
Number of Pages getting traffic between 101 and 1000: 4
Number of Pages getting traffic between 1001 and 5000: 0

When Number of pages = 230

Number of Pages getting 0 traffic: 95
Number of Pages getting traffic between 1 and 100: 99 
Number of Pages getting traffic between 101 and 1000: 32
Number of Pages getting traffic between 1001 and 5000: 4

The Result:

More than 700% increase in the number of pages getting more than 100 organic clicks per month.
