Crop Connect is a digital agricultural marketplace I developed that connects farmers, consumers, and fair price vendors through a digital marketplace. It enables farmers to view fair-price vendors and their offerings in real time, place bulk purchasing or selling orders, and communicate seamlessly with both vendors and fellow farmers. Built using TypeScript, React, and a suite of API tools, the platform supports SMS-based communication for low-connectivity regions and integrates map APIs to help farmers locate nearby suppliers, transport operators, and service providers with precision.

The project’s core goal is to eliminate information asymmetry by giving farmers transparent, immediate access to competitive pricing and reliable vendors, strengthening both individual and collective bargaining power. Its communication features allow farmers to coordinate group orders, share insights, and build collaborative networks that improve efficiency across the supply chain.

Crop Connect’s innovative, community-centric design earned my team first place at the International BSJ FOBISIA Hackathon in October 2025 under the advanced coding category, where it was recognized for its scalability and real-world utility.
