Main Purpose: To create a diverse portfolio of cover art that translates musical genres into visual identities. This project focused on building distinct "worlds" for each track, ensuring that the artwork grabs attention on streaming platforms while staying true to the artist's sonic style.
What I Learned:
Genre-Specific Visual Language: How to adapt design styles—from gritty, textured "emo" aesthetics to clean, vibrant pop layouts—to match the mood of the music.
Composition & Focus: The art of creating a "hero" focal point that remains legible and impactful even at small thumbnail sizes on Spotify or Apple Music.
Texture & Depth: Experimenting with digital grain, paper overlays, and light leaks to give digital designs a tactile, "physical" record feel.
Narrative Design: Using symbolic imagery and abstract elements to tell a story that complements the artist's lyrics without being too literal.
Format Constraints: Managing essential text elements (Artist Name, Parental Advisory tags) without cluttering the primary artwork.
