Editor Checklist – Blind Dating 7 Girls (Glow-Up Edition)
Raw Video: Click here to access the raw Video
Overall Structure
This video is shorter than the previous one (only 7 girls instead of 20).
Cameras & Usage
- Three camera angles:
- Wide shot → should be used most frequently.
- Host chair angle .
- Curtain angle → used whenever a specific girl speaks.
- Zoom in on her shoes (so viewer can really tell which girl is speaking)
- Add on-screen text over this shot identifying who is speaking or what she says.
The Intro
FIRST line of Intro: “This is my best friend Jesse, and today he’ll be blind dating these 7 girls.”
The intro voiceover was spoken directly to camera for the purpose of overlaying B-roll, so:
- Use lots of B-roll and visual overlays during this section.
- Treat the VO almost like a scripted narration.
- Establish the main concept clearly:
Blind dating 7 girls based on their pre-glow-up photos. Include:
- Quick intro shots of the girls behind the curtain.
- Any aesthetic clips from set that help hype the concept.
⚠️ (intro was actually filmed after entire video was already filmed) so you’ll have to skip to end to find that, and pull b-roll overlays from overall video)
Round Breakdown (7 Total)
Each of the 7 rounds should follow this rhythm:
- Use wide as the default; cut to host cam as needed.
Girl Speaking Moments
- When an individual girl says something significant:
- Cut to curtain cam → zoom into her feet.
- Add the text of what she’s saying on screen.
- Use this angle to emphasize key quotes or standout lines.
Elimination Reveal
After each elimination:
- Girl steps out from behind the curtain.
- Show Jesse’s reaction with the wide cam
- Continue chronological order—each reveal leads into the next round.
Ending / Outro
- After final girl is revealed and the match is made:
- Include asking: “Are you guys happy with your match?”
- Capture reactions, play out the natural conversation.
- End clean with a strong final shot (wide recommended).
Style Notes
- Want good pacing and storytelling
- Wide shot is the main anchor, but use the curtain cam strategically for clarity and comedic emphasis.
- Text overlays should always correspond exactly to what the girl says while on the feet-shot camera.
- Maintain the “blind dating glow-up” tone throughout.
