Assignment Details
Task 1: Comment-Writing Skill Test (Reddit Style)
Objective: Judge your ability to write engaging, valuable, and contextually relevant comments.
Below is a sample post (based on user discussions in r/MBAIndia, r/CATPrep, etc.). Write a thoughtful, natural Reddit-style comment that adds genuine value. Your comment should:
- Sound conversational, not like a formal essay.
- Add personal experience, insights, or practical tips.
- Be short enough to read quickly but rich enough to spark discussion (100–150 words).
Here is the post:
_________
Title: Is an MBA in India Still a Good Choice in 2025?
Body:
Hi everyone,
I am confused about my career. I am preparing for the CAT exam for an MBA. But now, I am not so sure.
A good MBA costs a lot of money (like 20-25 lakh rupees). The news says the job market is not stable. Some people say it's better to just learn new skills online (like coding or product management). These online courses are much cheaper.
My big question is: Is an MBA still worth all that money?
- To current MBA students: Are you getting the good jobs you were promised? Are companies paying well?
- To others who are preparing for CAT: Do you also feel unsure? Why are you still doing it?
- To people who have already done an MBA: If you had to choose again today, would you still do an MBA?
________
Task: Write a Reddit-style top comment responding to this.
> What we are judging:
- Relevance to the thread
- Authenticity of tone (not generic AI/PR sounding)
- Balance of personal insight + actionable points
- Ability to blend in naturally with a Reddit comment section
Task 2: Post-Writing Skill Test (Quora/Reddit OP Style)
Objective: Judge you can frame a relatable, scroll-stopping, discussion-worthy original post.
Instructions:
You are creating a Reddit post (like in r/MBAIndia or Quora answers). Write it in a way that gets people to engage. Your post should:
- Start with a hook (personal story, funny observation, or sharp question).
- Stay informal, conversational, but insightful.
- Ask a question at the end to invite replies.
- Length: 150–200 words max.
Prompt:
"Write a Reddit post titled: ‘Things they don’t tell you before starting an MBA in India’"
You can structure it like:
- Start with a funny/relatable observation (workload, peer competition, random group projects, sales-y assignments, etc.).
- Share 2–3 insights, either surprising, frustrating, or funny.
- End with a question like: “What shocked you the most when you started your MBA?”
> What we are judging:
- Ability to hook the audience from the first line
- Storytelling + relatability
- Whether it feels native to Reddit/Quora (not like LinkedIn or a blog post)
- Clarity + engagement potential
Submission Guidelines
- Write both Task 1, Task 2 on Google Doc or Notion Doc and submit it. Make sure you make it public.
- Add your Reddit link to the Description section
