Cognition is a documentation-based newsletter for freelancers, content creators, and business writers—helping them ace the content game and create better business systems.

We publish,

  • Long-form documentation of my work in building a freelance and content business
  • Guest emails from top content minds; exclusive to subscribers
  • Short, private hacks for the subscribers
  • Breakdown top copies and rewrite better versions

 

The Assignment:

We need you to market the newsletter on social media and communities to make the newsletter reach more relevant audiences

Create a detailed document mentioning pointers about three things:

  1. Look at Cognition's content and Vikra's social media channels: Linkedin, Twitter. Mention what you like about the newsletter and why you think people love it + what makes it one of the best content marketing newsletters
  2. Despite the content's quality, we feel the newsletter's readership can be better. Mention reasons why we have less than 1000 subs and not 10000 subs yet. Feel free to look into and point out at everything: collaborations, promotions, social media distribution, content, etc. We appreciate raw and honest opinions
  3. Come up with an action plan: Tell us how you can help us achieve two priority goals: Increase readership (aka more subs) and get sponsors. And how you can help us improve the things you have pointed out in the above section

    Few things we are doing currently:
    - Cross promotions
    - Social media promotions
    - Collaboration with communities
    - Collaboration with creators

    You can come up with new hacks/plans or show how you can improve the current ones

 

Again, we have two priority goals:

  1. Increase the number of subscribers
  2. Get sponsorships (because we don't charge from readers)

 

Any action plan you come up with that helps us meet these two goals (or any one of the two), we are all ears

 

PS: We are not immediately hiring but we are carefully reviewing all the content pieces to hire in late 2024 Q1. But if you show exceptional promise and if we feel your work can take us two steps ahead, we won't hesitate to hire you immediately
