Are you a wordsmith who can transform ideas into compelling stories? Do you have a knack for crafting engaging copy that drives results? At Buzz Lab, we’re on the lookout for a Creative Copywriter who can bring brands to life through the power of words.

What You’ll Do:

  • Craft Engaging Copy: Create captivating copy for a variety of platforms, including social media, websites, email campaigns, blogs, and more.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with our creative, strategy, and marketing teams to develop content that aligns with client goals and brand voice.
  • Concept Development: Generate original ideas and concepts for campaigns, ensuring the copy aligns with overarching marketing strategies.
  • Research & Insights: Dive deep into industry trends and audience insights to inform your copy and create resonant messages.
  • Edit & Revise: Revise and refine copy based on feedback, ensuring clarity, creativity, and effectiveness.
  • Brand Storytelling: Help shape and communicate brand narratives that connect emotionally with audiences.

Welcome to the Copywriter Copy Test! 🎉

Welcome to the Copy Test! We know this might look like just another copy test in a Google Doc, but that’s only because the person putting this together is stuck in back-to-back meetings (and they still managed to keep it snappy.) 😅We promise it’s way more exciting than it looks!

A few things to keep in mind:

  1. You can choose any 6 out of 7 tasks to tackle. (Yes, we trust you to pick wisely.)
  2. If you need clarity on anything, don’t hesitate to reach out! We’re all ears.
  3. And yes, of course… we do want you to let your imagination run wild! We’re not asking for “out-of-the-box” ideas (unless that’s what you’re vibing), but we are hoping to see just how far your creative brain can stretch.

We believe that creativity is at its best when you’re enjoying the ride. So, we’ve made this test a space for you to let your personality, wit, and copy skills shine. At the heart of it, we’re all about storytellers who can connect with audiences, spark scroll-stopping ideas, and turn followers into die-hard fans.

Task 1: Social Media

Objective: Create a series of Instagram captions for a carousel post promoting an eco-friendly bamboo toothbrush.

Scenario: We’re launching an eco-friendly bamboo toothbrush that’s durable, biodegradable, and designed to reduce plastic waste. Our audience is young, environmentally conscious, and passionate about sustainability.

What we need from you:

  • First Slide: Write a catchy headline that grabs attention.
  • Next 3 Slides: Three short, story-driven captions that are lighthearted but educational.
  • Last Slide: An engaging CTA (Call-to-Action) that inspires users to learn more or purchase.
     

Task 2: Reel Script with a Twist

Objective: Write a fun, snappy Instagram Reel script to promote an eco-friendly mattress brand.

Scenario: The reel should highlight the mattress’s eco-friendly materials, comfort, and breathability with a humorous spin. Keep it concise (around 100 words) and incorporate both dialogue and visual cues that make it easy to follow along.
 

Task 3: User-Generated Content Campaign (UGC)

Objective: Develop a unique social media campaign for a line of stylish, sustainable sneakers made from recycled materials.

What we’re looking for:

  • Campaign Concept: Pitch a creative campaign that would get users excited about the product and encourage them to share content.
  • UGC Angle: Suggest a way to involve the community through an interactive challenge, hashtag, or creative prompt that connects with their eco-conscious values.
     

Task 4: Showcase Your Copywriting Versatility

Objective: Write in multiple tones of voice, adapting to different audience personas.

Scenario: We want to see how you’d promote a vegan leather wallet for three different audiences. Choose a short headline and description that would resonate with:

  1. Eco-enthusiasts (Instagram story).
  2. Luxury shoppers (website product page).
  3. Young trendsetters (Twitter post).
     

Task 5: Brand Tagline Brainstorm

Objective: Create five memorable tagline options for a new brand of plant-based skincare products. The taglines should feel fresh, capture the product’s natural essence, and appeal to health-conscious millennials.
 

Task 6: Pitch an Unexpected Angle

Objective: Share an idea for a creative twist on a familiar topic.

Scenario: Imagine we’re running a campaign about the benefits of getting quality sleep. Pitch a concept for a social media or ad series that reimagines this common topic in a fun, unexpected way—something that would make people stop scrolling and reconsider their sleep habits.
 

Task 7: Content Buckets

Part 1:

Develop a comprehensive YouTube content strategy for a neo-banking app tailored to NRIs, focusing on facilitating seamless money transfers to and from India. Outline key content buckets to support this strategy.

Part 2:

Create content buckets and suggest a few content ideas for a brand specialising in general insurance solutions.

Submission:

Submit it in a format that best showcases your ideas—whether that's a PDF, a polished PowerPoint, Canva, or even a dynamic Notion page, or Miro board, anything.
