Assignment

Post 1: Founder POV

Scenario:

You’re writing on behalf of a founder of a fast-growing D2C brand who just faced a major operational setback: their warehouse caught fire 2 weeks before a key festive sale. But the team bounced back, restructured logistics in 5 days, and ended up breaking last year’s revenue records.

Your task:

  • Tell this as a real, vulnerable, but insightful post.
  • Avoid overused phrases (“resilience,” “hustle,” “teamwork”), show, don’t preach.
  • End with a lesson or realization that a founder would have, not a motivational quote.
Post 2: VC POV

Scenario:

You’re writing on behalf of a VC who just backed a health-tech company from Tier 2 India. The startup doesn’t have Ivy League founders or flashy decks, just strong margins, repeat customers, and a product built from local insight.

Your task:

  • Show what made the VC back them (emphasis on clarity, customer love, not hype).
  • Use this as a post that also makes a point about how VC should change its lens.
  • It should feel real, not fund-promotion.
Post 3: D2C Founder - Content Strategy

Scenario:

You’ve been hired to handle the LinkedIn content of a D2C founder (e.g., someone who’s built a clean-label skincare brand or an Indian athleisure company).

Your task:

List 5–6 post ideas you would write for them over the next month. Each idea should:

  • Be specific, not generic (avoid “how I built my brand” or “why feedback matters”)
  • Have a one-line title or working headline
  • Briefly describe what the post would talk about

We’re testing whether you can think sharply, not just write well.

Important Guidelines

  • Write as if the person is posting it on their own profile.
(Not like a third-person blog, not like a news release.)
  • Keep it real, not robotic.
Use a tone that’s honest, sharp, sometimes emotional, but never cliche.
  • Structure it with hooks and natural flow.

Bonus (Optional)

  • Pick any one of the following and write a third post (if you want to go above and beyond):
  • A CXO’s reflections after letting go of 20% of the team, and how it changed his view of leadership.
  • An investor explaining why India’s real founder gap is not about talent, but about visibility and discovery.
  • A personal moment where work and family collided, and taught the founder something bigger than business.

Submission Format

  • Submit all posts and ideas in a single Google Doc or Notion page. Make sure it's public
  • Label them clearly: “Founder POV”, “VC POV”, “D2C Post Ideas”, etc.

What You’ll Do as a LinkedIn Writer:

  • Write engaging LinkedIn posts, articles, and thought leadership content.
  • Adapt and maintain each client's unique tone, style, and messaging.
  • Research industry trends, news, and topics to create relevant and timely content.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand goals and build strong personal brand narratives.

Manage content calendars and ensure timely delivery of posts.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience ghostwriting for founders, CXOs, or business leaders.
  • Understand personal branding strategies.
  • Have a basic knowledge of SEO and LinkedIn algorithms.

✨ Important note

  • Contribute to open source projects hosted by brands
  • The open source projects are meant for the portfolio building purpose, not necessarily for hiring purpose
  • On approval, your submission will be displayed on your portfolio
