Write a Twitter thread on the Exponential Growth of AI

The general sentiment is that AI has been rapidly advancing, with new breakthroughs and capabilities emerging all the time. But many people don't fully appreciate just how exponential this growth has been over time.

Highlight the full story of its exponential trajectory - spanning decades of research breakthroughs, philosophical shifts, and enabling factors.

a) Start the thread with a powerful hook that grabs attention tastefully. (nothing cliché*)

b) Then, don't just recite a timeline, but:

• Trace AI's origins way back to its very beginning and early thought experiments around intelligent machines.
• Highlight major breakthroughs and pioneering work that laid the foundations (e.g. Turing, neural networks, etc).
• Explore how conversations around AI's potential evolved from skepticism to excitement as capabilities improved.

The goal is for readers to finish the thread with a profound appreciation for just how incredible AI's journey has been so far, and an intuitive feel for its exponential growth trajectory.

What Success Looks Like

• A thread that’s highly researched and includes a lot of visuals (graphs, computers, anything that’s interesting and apt for the topic), appropriate references to interviews, and podcasts from tier-A tech people about AI.
• There should be a captivating narrative arc that weaves through the thread.
• Your inferences should be strongly knit with high-quality research and should not be just opinions based on on-the-surface knowledge stuff that you read somewhere.
• It should be insightful and should NOT feel it’s ghostwritten. (The tonality & the style of writing is paramount)
• It should be extremely detailed and informationally dense. Feel free to go longer as long as the tempo and the interestingness of the thread don’t fall off. Length of the content does not matter, as long as it is interesting.

🚀 Besides this, you can explore the topic through your curiosity. Go all out, it shouldn’t feel like an information overload or just research dumped in a thread.

It should evoke some level of emotion/stimuli for the reader to feel like they actually READ something substantial.

• Casual, effortless style - avoid overly optimized formats or cheesy phrases. Write like you talk - think of it as casually explaining something novel to a friend.
• Provide unique, advanced insights presented accessibly - go deeper than surface-level concepts everyone knows, but explain complex ideas simply.
