In simple words, more Proof of Work = You have worked on more projects before = shows you are proactive and can get things done.
Always remember, that there is no proxy for experience. You have to go through the process of creating your projects. It helps guide the conversation.
Having more proof of work on your portfolio subconsciously makes your decision-makers have a bias for you, this is based on my personal experience working with them for years now.
Imagine having Proof of Work on your portfolio, and your interviewer are asking you questions related to that, now imagine the reverse when you have nothing to showcase apart from your degrees, and certificates and sone online courses you have learned
If you need help with proof of work, feel free to DM me - we have an ongoing Fueler Bootcamp to help you build your portfolio
Some examples of portfolios you can take inspiration from
- Vikra Vardhan (content and copywriting)
- Anuj S. (content writing)
- Nayeema Tabassum (content writing)
- Mimansha Chauhan (community management)
- Anirban Das (copywriting)
- Sharvin Shitole (generalist)
I hope the above portfolio helps you create your own. Also yes, you can mention your portfolio link on your resume inside. Similar to LinkedIn, GitHub you can also add your Fueler Portfolio link. But personally I will recommend to always share both of them separately to the decision makers.
💡 Pro tip: If you are cold reaching to a decision maker, you can write to them with your portfolio highlighting 2-3 of best work, it will make them click on your work, then ask if they also want to check your resume, then you can share with them.
Let me know if this works for you. Thanks for reading.
