Your Resume is not your Portfolio

Your resume is not your portfolio

When I ask or someone asks for your portfolio, please share your portfolio. A portfolio is where you showcase your projects, sample work, case studies, articles and any kind of things you have created from your knowledge. Your portfolio will consist of all the proof of work you have created.

Please understand the difference between resumes and portfolios.

Resumes make promises, while portfolios prove those promises. Share your portfolio, instead of just your resume - if you want to get hired. Having the portfolio along with help the decision makers to understand the depth of skills you have.

Some examples of portfolios you can take inspiration from

- Vikra Vardhan (content and copywriting)

- Anuj S. (content writing)

- Nayeema Tabassum (content writing)

- Mimansha Chauhan (community management)

- Anirban Das (copywriting)

- Sharvin Shitole (generalist)

I hope the above portfolio helps you create your own. Also yes, you can mention your portfolio link on your resume inside. Similar to LinkedIn, GitHub you can also add your Fueler Portfolio link. But personally I will recommend to always share both of them separately to the decision makers.

💡 Pro tip: If you are cold reaching to a decision maker, you can write to them with your portfolio highlighting 2-3 of best work, it will make them click on your work, then ask if they also want to check your resume, then you can share with them.

Let me know if this works for you. Thanks for reading.
