Earlier this year, I was invited to give a TEDx Talk at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. For someone who started building a startup from a small town in Northeast India, this moment felt unreal. Standing on that stage was not something I had imagined when Fueler was just an idea and resources were limited.
This was not just a personal milestone. It was a meaningful moment for Fueler and for the community that believes in skills, proof of work, and building careers beyond resumes. The invitation represented validation not just of my journey, but of the larger belief that work should speak louder than credentials.
The TEDx stage at IIT Guwahati gave me a global platform to share our story. I spoke about how Fueler was built with limited resources, strong intent, and deep belief in a simple idea. Companies should hire people based on what they can do, not just what they claim on paper. That belief has shaped every decision we have made while building Fueler.
Fueler is a portfolio platform that helps companies hire through assignments instead of resumes. We help individuals showcase their real work so hiring decisions become fair, practical, and skill-focused. This idea came from personal frustration with traditional hiring systems, especially for people coming from non-metro cities who often get overlooked despite having real ability.
During the talk, I shared the core themes that shaped my startup journey. I spoke about the mental models that helped me navigate uncertainty as a founder, models that came from real experiences, failures, and lessons learned while building Fueler. These frameworks helped me think clearly when outcomes were uncertain and resources were constrained.
I also spoke openly about real fundraising conversations with venture capitalists. Instead of presenting polished narratives, I shared what investors actually ask, what they truly care about, and why clarity of thought often matters more than fancy pitches or buzzwords.
Finally, I shared simple frameworks for building a startup from anywhere. You do not need to be in a big city or come from a famous college to build something meaningful. With insight, courage, and perseverance, it is possible to create impactful companies from any corner of the country.
This TEDx Talk represents much more than a speech. It represents thousands of creators, freelancers, students, and professionals who believe that proof of work matters. It represents every founder building quietly from places that are often ignored, but full of talent and ambition.
The talk is now live on YouTube. I am deeply grateful to IIT Guwahati and the TEDx team for trusting me with this stage and allowing me to share our story.
