Welcome readers,
Today’s story about a guy, who has been recently featured on “facesofbengaluru”, he has distributed masks in 15+ cities in the US and India, supported 10k people in the time of Covid-19, started @wishboardco to help and support social causes.
Sanketh has moved back from the US 4 months ago. He is currently building wishboardco and http://goodnewsco.club. Besides, He consults startups (and companies) for growth and community building.
Recently, He got his first gig for growth consultant through Twitter — It was finalized two weeks ago, but discussions took place for two months.
Q. What’s that one thing you want to achieve in 2021?
A. I wanted to keep supporting social good and help causes which impact peoples’ lives through wishboardco and I wanted to get 1% better every day in growth, community building, storytelling and on Twitter (and photography.)
Q. What’s that one thing you are most curious about?
A. It’s any new thing I come across. It might be a recent trend NFTs or tokenizing tweets or really old in history like how did the sewage system start. Anything new which I see.
Q. Which book you are reading these days?
A. These days I have lost patience to read books. I listen to podcasts, read blogs and articles on “all” interesting and curious things, but I’m trying hard to get back to reading hard copy books.
Q. What do you love to do when not working? Any hobbies you want to share?
A. Of course, Besides working, I help newbies to learn community building and no-code. I like to travel which isn’t happening now, but I’m a hardcore traveller and I like to explore food and an amateur photographer.
PS: I’ve eaten pizzas in 65+ cities.
Q. What problem you are planning to solve next?
A. Currently I am planning to work on two problems:
Q. Why did you choose to become a creator? How do you see yourself differently than the rest?
A. I became a creator to solve problems what I faced, and now I’m trying to solve the problem what others are facing.
Even when I grow bigger I keep wanting to help people with their needs, be generous in talking in DMs, RTs and comments, I want to maintain my personality on public feed, DMs and in real person same. I do not want to be a person who’ll ignore his path when he grows. I want to be like a wave and uplift everyone along with me. This is how I want to be different by being normal, kind and humane.
Q. Which book/concept has influenced you the most in how you live your life?
A. As a child born and raised in Bangalore, India, I always questioned the two sides of the coin — one consisting of people who belong to the upper class or are wealthy and the other side filled with people who are poverty-stricken, who cannot afford a better life. I was strengthened by many qualities which are vital to Indian culture, like serving without expectation and the embodiment of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which is Sanskrit for “The world is one family,” which is from the Hitopadesha. The Hitopadesha is a collection of Sanskrit fables in the form of prose and verse that I was told when I was young. The main purpose is to instruct young minds with charitable philosophy so that children are able to grow into responsible adults. This ideology of “celebrating the giving” is endemic to Indian society, and I believe our lives have a purpose, and we are all better if we can help the less fortunate flip their coin. That is why I in, “giving without expectation”.
I have extensively shared these philosophies with people in the US when I lived there for a few years. They were really motivated by Indian knowledge.
Q. Suppose there is a big whiteboard in front of you. What’s the first line you would like to write?
A. Choose Kindness 💚.
